- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs (beaten)
- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place each chicken breast between plastic wrap and pound to about 1 inch thick.
- Set up a breading station with flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs mixed with Italian herbs in a third.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then dip into the egg wash, and finally coat in breadcrumbs until fully covered.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken cutlets for about 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Transfer the fried cutlets to a baking dish, pour marinara sauce over them, and top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
