- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 2 cups Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1 cup marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh basil for garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season chicken breasts on both sides with salt and pepper, then flatten slightly for even cooking.
- Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs in separate shallow dishes. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear each breaded chicken breast for about 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Transfer chicken to a baking dish. Pour marinara sauce over each piece and sprinkle with mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
